Are you Vufine ready?

Hello everyone!

Less than a week until the start of shipment! We are so excited to get Vufine out to all of you.

We wanted to share with you some information and tips to make sure you’re Vufine ready so that you can get the most out of your device the second it lands at your door.

The Vufine package comes with one Vufine, one matching docking station, a custom soft-HDMI cable (micro-to-full), one micro USB charging cable, one wire frame stabilizer, and one pair of non-prescription glasses.

Note: Not all devices work with Vufine directly out of the box and may require the purchase of an adaptor or cable.

To ensure you have everything you’ll need to be Vufine ready we want to give you a basic overview of Vufine connectivity. First of all, you want to make sure that your device is Vufine compatible. To do this, make sure your device is capable of outputting a 720p HDMI video signal. Next, you’ll need to make sure Vufine micro-to-full HDMI cable is able to plug into your device.

Devices with an HDMI port:

Keep in mind that many devices, including laptops, cameras, and gaming consoles, have a full sized HDMI port that can connect to Vufine out of the box. There are two other types of HDMI connectors, mini and micro that you may find on action cameras, drone controllers and other devices. These will require the purchase of an adaptor (either micro or mini) to connect directly to Vufine. In the coming months we will be selling every variety of HDMI cable through our online store to mitigate your need for adaptors.

AV to HDMI Converters

We’ve been asked this question a fair amount from drone users and would like to clarify that as long as your converter is capable of taking AV and outputting 720p it will work with Vufine. Using this AV converter we literally played Nintendo 64 on Vufine. It was awesome.

Devices without an HDMI port:

Apple:

All Apple products are able to output HDMI and are compatible with Vufine using the correct adaptor. As you may know, recent iPhones, iPads, or iTouches have a Lightning Port. To connect your Vufine to these apple devices, you will need a Lightning Digital AV Adapter.

Macbooks have a Thunderbolt port to output video, in which case a Thunderbolt to HDMI adapter is needed to output to Vufine. For older generations of iPhones and iPads, you can use the Apple 30-pin digital av adaptor.

Android:

Android devices that are MHL-compatible may be connected to Vufine. MHL-compatible devices may be found on this list. Note that the appropriate adapter must be used to use an MHL-compatible device with Vufine.

Slimport supported devices will also need the appropriate adapter which can be found here. A list of supported SlimPort devices can be found here.

In both cases, you will need to find the appropriate settings within the device to output video. These can vary depending on the device and directions on doing so can be found in your respective device’s manual.

Since Vufine has such a wide variety of uses, even we haven’t tried everything. We hear about new devices every day and we’d love to know how you’re using Vufine so that we can compile the most comprehensive list possible.
